31 Days of Prayer Day 21

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. John 6:68

Father in Heaven it seems like the world is pulling at us in so many directions but my prayer today is that we will not be overcome by the things of this world. Your word says “what does it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.” Lord please help us to not have our heart’s so fixed on worldly gain that we walk away from you. God give us the desire to stay! So many are leaving the faith for various reasons but God today I pray that you draw them back to you. I pray for those who are in a spiritual battle wondering should they even stay the course? I am reminded of when you asked the Disciples “Will you go away also?” and Peter said, Lord, to whom shall we go?” Thou hast the words to eternal life.” Lord Jesus I know that it fills your heart with sorrow when your children leave you because you know you are their only hope. So Father I pray for those who have walked away from you because the enemy satan had them so discouraged and hurt. Father they thought that was the best choice but in reality that was the worst choice. I pray Father that they will open their eyes and see that they need to repent and come back to you! Help us to stay Father when the enemy is doing all he can to make us walk away. May our souls be anchored in you Lord Jesus! May we realize Jesus Christ is our firm and secure foundation. You promised to keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on you, because we trust in you. Help us to rely on you and stay on the battlefield. We thank you for hope and strength for each day. I am yours Lord and it is my desire to please you. This is my prayer in Jesus name, Amen.
