Grief

Grief is the response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or some living thing that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, grief also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, cultural, spiritual and philosophical dimensions. Wikipedia

Remember as you grieve God is with you strengthening you, helping you cope with something you do not have the power to change. We can’t go back but with God we have the power to move forward. Cherish those beautiful memories you shared and live your life abundantly knowing your great God loves you.

It may feel like you can’t go on in the beginning but hold on to God He has the power to keep you going when you feel you have every reason to give up.

Grief affects us all differently it isn’t to be compared. Pain is pain! Let us show love and compassion toward those who are hurting because of loss.

One of my favorite scriptures is Matthew 9:36 King James Version
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

I hope when you see your brothers and sisters hurting you are moved like Jesus was with compassion. Sadly, I know what it is like not to receive mercy from your peers when you need it most but I’m so glad God’s mercy never ends. He was right there with me every step of the way walking with me and encouraging me. When you have God you have more than enough.

When you know it’s God’s mercy helping you then you are eager to show mercy to others. Matthew 5:7 King James Version 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

If you have ever kicked a person when they were down that was cruel and unmerciful and you should be grateful God had mercy on you instead of giving you what you deserved.

Mercy
compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm.

We must show love and mercy just like Jesus does. Pray for those who are grieving, encourage them and let them know God loves them and will help them cope with the hardships in their life.

Life is short and when our time on earth has expired how would you want people to remember you?

Once your body returns to dust and your spirit/breath returns back to God your work here is done. Ecclesiastes 12:7 King James Version 7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

I pray you are doing good works friends. I’m not talking about good works only to be applauded by men and women. I’m talking about helping others because you know God is helping you. Some folk is motivated to help others so they can be in the spotlight. False compassion always runs out. I pray you don’t live your life ruining everybody else’s. We have to take our journey serious and do what the Lord says.

Father God we repent this morning. We have not always done what it is right in the eyes of you Lord. We have strayed away from your word and I pray that you draw us back with your abounding love. Please help us to be compassionate towards those in need and show mercy every day. Lord we can not live a holy life if we have not accepted the one true and only holy God. You said if we confess our sins you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God we are so sorry this morning for all the things we have done to hurt you and our brothers and sisters please forgive us and help us in Jesus name, Amen.
